Do you rock....or not?! When was the last time you put on yr dancing shoes...?!?

C'mon, matured citizens --- let's lighten up this section - it's not all about health (or lack of), care, finance (or lack of), philosophy (or lack of) .... do you still

rock and roll,

hip hop,

street dance,

charleston,

cha cha,

paint the town red,

booze it up for a night,

have rancous laughter,

shake up the ol' booty,

went round the bend,

race down the highway,

flirt with your spouse (by mistake!),

flirt with someone you just got acquainted with,

see a face across a darkened room,

not care for a kid for a day,

had some southern comfort

day dream,

look at the sky,

Lost

On a painted sky

Where the clouds are hung

For the poet's eye

saw the man in the moon for yourself

saw those southern nights

......

..........when was the last time you did any of these, or something similar? when is the next time you are going to do them?

('Lost...poets eye'-lyrics by Neil Diamond)

Do you rock....or not?! When was the last time you put on yr dancing shoes...?!?
Woo-hoo! Let's party! Okay, every weekend, my grandson comes to visit. He is 17. He is a musician and loves Rock'n'roll! So, we spend alot of time on You Tube listening to the latest songs.

He loves this time and so do I as I cannot listen to a good song and not dance! Currently, I am teaching him how to slow dance! lol Big feet on my little toes! But, he is getting it...very well!

So, on the weekend, I rock'n'roll with my grandson and dance until I can't anymore. Great fun, great exercise!

Now, daydreaming...oh yeah! I love to write and so, I am constantly establishing characters in my mind. My, how I love being creative with them! Very stimulating!

Racing down the highway. Oh yeah! I love taking short jaunts alone. A cabin, a highway and I am out of here! Although I go away to write, I love the drive. Hilly, winding, roads are the best! Open up the moonroof and turn on some good music and just cruise! Wonderful feeling! FREEDOM!!

I love looking at the sky and imagining all manner of objects made of fluffy clouds! I have done this since childhood and I do not intend to stop now!

When will I do this again? This weekend, I will sing, dance and explore new music with my grandson!

The next time I want to just let my mind go...I will daydream!

My cabin, in the hills? It is already beckoning me! Thinking about taking a couple days, next week!

Looking at the skies...next time I find myself, in the hammock, and looking to see the images!

I maybe 52 but, I love to have fun, enjoy life and dance through life as though each day brings a new adventure.
Reply:Don't care for dancing. I just like to listen to my classic rock.
Reply:I dance naked with my dogs.
Reply:My idea of Southern Comfort is sitting in my swing with a nice glass of Ice Tea and listening to music while my little cat curls up beside me.

I been there, done that, on the dancing and I have earned the right to do exactly as I please and it pleases me to do nothing...I did pick a squash today,,,and a cucumber yesterday...slap wore me out!....I think I will do a little painting today....a landscape maybe....I do move around enough to keep on living but painting the town red is just not on my agenda anymore...

I plan to cruise into that great Sunset. I don't want to be like all those who act like they are 40 when they are 60....it just seems sad to me to pretend you are younger than you are..what's wrong with being and looking 60..If someone is so shallow as to be bothered by me,,,I don't want them as friends, anyway..

So, here's to the people like me, who have decided to grow old gracefully...

Reply:disco night fever
Reply:(sigh)

Unfortunately the osteoporosis that makes the bones in my feet break at the slightest pressure beyond merely walking will not allow this.

But can I watch?

(And I so used to love dancing...)
Reply:Hey sugar! I do all that and more on a regular basis %26amp; I'm 62.

Even have ordered a Vulcan 500 for my sunny day rides. In case you don't know: That is a motorcycle.

I am NOT your average over the hill senior, I work a full time job and hike the Appalachian Trail with my dog.

Most of the folks here are active too but we do like to share %26amp; solve problems and yes, remember the by gone days.

Lighten up turkey!
Reply:dancing is the best exercise in the world for mental and physical relive........ i dance almost everyday at shower.

the last time i put on my dancing shoes was many years back. too old to be seen in disco now. :p i will stop dancing on the day i die...
Reply:Oh babe, I rock by your standards..and here is the rocking:

Championship dancer in : Waltz, Foxtrot, American Tango, ChaCha (American and International), Rumba, Mambo, Salsa, Cumbia, Argentine Tango, Samba, Marange, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, C/W Two Step, Night Club Two Step, Bolero, Free STyle, Hustle, and free style slow dance. Yes, I suppose I put my shoes on plenty. I am lucky, have an equally good dance partner, and we shake a leg with great regularity. Dancing is fun, great exercise, very social, and just plain old great. Never turn down a chance to dance! You do not have to be a good dancer to love to dance. Never be afraid to get out on the floor, NO ONE is going to judge your dance ability..in fact, the only people others see on the floor are the really good dancers...all others are there, but never criticized...dancers all know that we start somewhere, and that somewhere is not championship level. Good luck and DANCE !

Reply:Hey, I'm 56 and I rocked out at a Killswitch Engage concert in New Orleans on July 17th. I was about the oldest one there but I'll quit rockin when I'm 6 feet under.
Reply:Mah dancin' shoes are on rite now baybee! CHA CHA CHA!!!
Reply:....
Reply:Ha I live in the mountains, folks of all ages go "flat footen" on any night of the weeks. I was not actually used to this type of dancing, I had no taps on my shoes, they did, but I can "flat foot" Virginia style. So, we are dancin'...........
Reply:Yes I do rock and roll always.
Reply:I try to do all of the above as often as possible even if I'm not at all good at it. I also dance in the rain, give myself permission to continue to be a free spirit and most of all continually remind myself I need no ones approval.
Reply:I dance and sing to the music played on my cable TV stations that host oldies, 70s, and 80s music. But I haven't gone out lately to dance. I rather enjoy the music in my car too!
Reply:I turn on my old victrola and crank up the tunes

almost daily. It keeps the bones movin and the heart apumpin!
