What is the proper name for those tracking devices that you usually tie to your shoe for a race?

It takes your time down for the race you run? Do they sell those anywhere, I got one for a race and I think my child lost it.

Reply:Chip timing. Usually there are a few big companies in each state that take care of all the major competitions and races. I timing and PT timing and accutrack are big where I live
Reply:It is called a chip.

I would call the race organziers and get a new one. The chip is program tied to your number and entry. You can't just buy a new one -- you need to get one from the race organizers themselves.
