Running tips (i have a race tommorow! :SS ) ??
Don't worry to your best its your first meet. You'll get better every meet.

What to eat: You wanna carb up. Carbs give you energy and you need potassium. So eat apples, bananas, oranges, granola bars, healthy stuff. I usually bring apples and a strawberry fruit bar.

Running tips: Pace your self you don't wanna get worn out or come in last so keep your distance if you feel tired keep going start swinging your arms faster and your feet will pick up(that's what I've heard from my coaches)

If your doing a mile I can see your pretty fast so you shouldn't have any problems. Breathe in through your mouth and out of your nose to control your breathing.

Running Shoes: I'm not sure. I think what ever suites you. I like Nike's their good. What ever tennis shoe brand you prefer or buy track shoes.I don't have them buy I'm sure their good. Ask a person at the store when you go.

Other tips: Keep going don't quit you'll do fine. Stay hydrated drink lots of fluids before, during and after the meet. If its cold have warm ups ( sweat pants, sweat shirt to wear when your not running when you are running you have to take it off) Warm up before your race. Be ready to go. Good Luck

What track team are you on? Or state? I got a track meet tomorrow and that be cool if we were versing you. So just post State and w/e school not name like me Ohio/middle school.
Reply:In a mile race, I suggest to, in the beginning, sprint till you are close to the front, don't sprint too long though. Then go into a nice jog and pace yourself. then once you are about 50-100m from the end of the race, sprint.
Reply:slow down and be closer to the back, jogging then sprint
